Who can join these ESL and Computer classes?
A
Permanent Residents of Canada, Convention Refugees, Refugee Claimants, naturalized Canadian Citizens not born in Canada, and Diplomats, may apply to take our ESL classes. Applicants must also reside in Ontario and provide proof of residency.

I don't live in Ontario, can I still take a class?
A
Yes you may take classes at one of our schools. You will be charged a fee.

Do I need a visa to come to Canada?
A
The short answer is, it depends. For detailed information about your visa questions visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website.

I am a visitor to Canada. Can I take a class?
A
Visitors are welcome to take English as a Second Language or Computer classes. Conditions apply. Your best course of action is to contact the school by phone once you are in Ottawa and set up an appointment. The Assessment Instructor will be able to address your particular situation.

What are the fees?
A

Materials Fees
All students pay a materials fee.
  • Part Time: $10 per school term
    9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m OR 12:30 p.m to 3:30 p.m.
  • Full Time: $20 per school term
    9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m AND 12:30 p.m to 3:30 p.m.


Fees for Visitors, Holders of Work Permits, International Students and Non-Residents

Visitors, International Students on Student Permit, Work Permit (Case 27), Out-of-Province Learners
Non-refundable fee of $50 for registration and assessment, plus materials fee and tuition as described below.
Tuition Fees

  • $200 per month for 15 hours a week, or
  • $400 per month for 30 hours per week.

All fees are due at the beginning of each school term, or each month, as applicable, and are non-refundable.

Do you make arrangements for homestay?
A
No. You must make your own arrangements.

Do you have daycare for my children?
A
Childminding is available for Ontario Works clients. Additionally LINC students at St. Patrick's may also qualify for child care.

How do I register for a class?
A
Call one of our Schools to make an appointment. You will be assessed and placed in the level appropriate for you. Please bring your immigration documents and proof of Ontario residency.
